What’s my bra size?

It may be a tricky task to find a bra that fits perfect. We want to help you find the right one! Feel free to contact any of our experts at our stores, or use our size guide below. Always measure without wearing a sweater and bra, using a soft tape measure.

A) Measurement around the bust (cm)

Place the tape measure around  your bust and back at the same height as your nipples (where you are the widest). You don’t have to pull the tape measure tightly – leave some air between the tape measure and your skin. The measurement will be the basis of your cup size.

B) Measurement below your bust (cm)

Place the tape measure around  back and front at the same height as your bra band. Hold the tape measure tightly under the chest, just below the bust. The measurement will be your  perimeter size.

The difference in cm between the measurements below the bust (B) and the measurements above the highest point of the bust (A) determines the cup size. Example: If your bust size is 99 cm and your perimeter under the bust is 82 cm, it gives you a difference of 17 cm. According to the chart, your recommended size is in this scenario is 80D.

What other bra size could fit?

A bra’s diagonal size is the closest smaller or larger size. The only difference is a longer or shorter perimeter around the bust. If you try on a 75B size bra and its too small around the back, but the cup is in the right place,  you should try size 80A. 75B and 80A has the same cup volume. On the contrary, if you try on 80C and it’s to big around the back,  try size 75B to get the same cup size. This method is good to keep in mind when experimenting with sizes!

How should a good bra fit?

In addition to choosing a bra with the right size, it is very important to make sure it actually fits! Here is a checklist that may be helpful to ensure that the bra is as comfortable and perfect as possible.

1. BRA CLASP

   If the bra’s clasp in the back has several different adjustments, always try the bra on with the outermost adjustment. As the material stretches, you can always put it on another adjustment to maintain the right fit.

2. BACK STRAP
   

   The bra should fit in a horizontal line around the body. If the back strap slides up to the shoulder blades, or if the bra comes off when you raise your arms over your head, try a bra with a smaller perimeter. If the strap cuts in to your skin or hurts, it is probably too tight, and you need to try a larger size. If you are between two sizes, our recommendation is to choose the narrower size, as the material always stretches over time (especially swimwear).

3. SHOULDER STRAPS
   

   Adjust the bra straps so that they follow the body without cutting into the shoulders. The shoulder straps should give a noticeable lift to the breasts, but the bra should also be able to stay in place without the shoulder straps. If you have a bigger bust, it is often better to get a bra with wider shoulder straps.

4. THE CUPS

   The bra cup should be well filled and lay smoothly on your chest. Raise the breast with your hand and lift it into the cup to make sure it fits properly. If part of the breast falls over the edge of the bra cup you need a bigger cup size. If your breast doesn’t fill the cup completely, try a smaller cup size. 

5. THE UNDERWIRE
   

   The underwire should reach under the whole area of the breast to give lift and support. Test another model if the underwire cuts or irritates the skin.

It is just as important to find the right bra size and fit as it is to find a bra that suits your body, your needs and your wishes. It is important to remember that all women are different, and that there are no pair of breasts that are completely identical. Therefore the fit of a bra and how comfortable it is to wear depends on what kind of bra you try on.

• BALCONETTE: A bra that lifts and shapes the bust from below. Provides a good support and gives you a nice cleavage. Fits all sizes, but is especially good for a medium size bust.

• BANDEAU: A bra with a straight cut over the bust. It often has removable shoulder straps or tie straps around the neck. Fits a smaller to a medium sized bust.

• UNDERWIRE: A bra with an underwire, which provides extra good support and lift. Fits all sizes, but especially good for a larger bust.

• NO UNDERWIRE: A bra without an underwire, and a smooth cup that provides soft and comfortable support. Fits a smaller to a medium sized bust.

• HALTERNECK: A bra without an underwire that is tied around the neck. Fits a smaller to a medium sized bust.

• PROSTHESIS BRA: A bra with cups that have pockets for prosthetic inserts. These models often have a high cut to cover the inserts properly. Fits all sizes. They may also be used by someone who doesn’t have breast prostheses.

• PUSH-UP: A bra that lifts the bust from underneath. Padded cups that maximizes the bust and provides a fuller cleavage. Fits a smaller to a medium sized bust.

• TRIANGLE: A bra without an underwire, a triangle shaped cup and tie bands. Fits a smaller to a medium sized bust.
